Twisted Lies (#4)

Fake Dating with a Dangerous Edge: A Dive into Ana Huang’s “Twisted Lies”

Calling all bookworms with a soft spot for dark heroes and captivating heroines! If you crave a romance that’s equal parts STEAMY and suspenseful, then “Twisted Lies” is for you. It’s a story that will keep you guessing until the very end, with characters you can’t help but root for. And Ofcourse, the first page itself is the giveaway as to why you should dive into this book as it says:

“To everyone whose favorite color is morally gray”

(If you’re a steamy romance lover and your fav color isn’t morally gray, then you’re morally questionable.)

The Beauty and the Beast

Social media sensation Stella Alonso, who has a golden heart and a secret introverted side, finds life difficult after losing her job and having a stagnating number of followers on social media. This pushes Stella to look for a fake lover in an attempt to secure a life-changing deal and to gain more followers. (We couldn’t relate more, we are all fans of love and romance, after all. These things are more popular on media nowadays than anything else.)

Her fake boyfriend: Christian Harper, a brooding billionaire with a past as dark as his suits. Dark hair. Whiskey eyes. A face so exquisitely chiseled it could’ve been sculpted by Michelangelo himself. CEO of an elite security company, owner of the Mirage, the building Stella lived in. As Christian requires a beautiful arm candy for upcoming business events, a contract is drawn for fake dating and their twisted journey begins.

(Is it only me who thinks this whole arm candy reason was an excuse to keep Stella by his side? Well Obsession can lead a man to do stupid things like lowering their apartment rent to almost pennies, letting her pay only the half of it when her roommate moves out in exchange of taking care of those plants he never gives a fuck about before. I guess, Love really makes you blind.)

Opposites Attract (with a Contract)

Stella, despite her online persona, is a hopeless romantic yearning for real love. Christian, on the other hand, scoffs at the idea. However, Stella, beneath her shy demeanor, possesses a fierce independence that intrigues Christian. Christian, under his cold exterior, hides a vulnerability that Stella glimpses. As their fake relationship progresses, the lines blur between pretend and genuine feelings.

A Love Ignited by Lies

Can love blossom amidst a foundation of lies? Christian hides some deep truths from Stella, but as the story continues everything comes into light. This book gives a thunderstorm of emotions to readers – vulnerabilities, broken trust, stalker’s presence, kidnapping and gunshots here and there. A love story – “Twisted Lies” that defies expectations and make us crave for more swoon-worthy moments despite all odds.

Here’s what to expect:

  • A slow-burn romance with undeniable chemistry
  • A strong female lead who embraces her vulnerability
  • A dark and mysterious hero with a hidden past
  • A plot with suspense and unexpected twists
  • A satisfying conclusion that ties up the series

(There is a lot more in book that can’t be described from my limited version of vocabulary. So, dive into the twisted world of Stella and Christian. You won’t regret it.)

Fav line from Christian – “Touch another man, he dies. Let another man touch you, he dies. Tell me I can’t touch you and I will fucking die.”

ANOTHER THING about Christian that I got jealous of is how he call Stella – “Butterfly” i.e. Beautiful. Elusive. Hard to catch. (A nickname got to be this meaningful and beautiful.)

My fav book for Twisted series:

It has to be this one (Twisted Lies), the dating phase of Stella and Christian has the best moments. Hawaii. Italy. What not. But WAIT!!!!!! I am more of enemies-to-lovers kind of girl, so yeah – “Twisted hate” is the one. Their constant bickering and the hate sex – whew. Actually NO! I would kill anyone for having a boyfriend like Rhys and a story like “Twisted Games” – a fight for love, Costa Rica, someone calling you princess. However, on second thought, a man who could leave his own fucking company for a girl is a rarity many of us have only seen in book so I guess “Twisted Love” should be the endgame.

But I couldn’t betray Stella and Christian like that – a person who frowned and disgust at the idea of love becoming the most romantic man. Writing love letters in her absence telling her that she will always be his first, last and only love.

FUCK!!!!! I can’t choose. Let’s just say Twisted series is my favorite. Ha, it makes sense now.

The DUAL POV got to be the best thing about Ana Huang books as it immerses us in the minds of both character, understanding their motivations and desires.

Read the first three books here – https://elopeinfiction.com/

Warning

  • First thing first it contains some steamy scenes so made sure you are 18+ to read this.
  • Second, this book is part of a series, but it can be read as a standalone. However, some scenes would be more enjoyable, if you read this after the first three.

In a nut shell, whether you’re a longtime fan of Ana Huang or a newcomer to the world of dark romance, “Twisted Lies” is a captivating read that will leave you wanting more.
