Royalty and romance collide in Ana Huang’s “Twisted Games”, the second book in the Twisted series.
“To all the girls who said fuck Prince Charming,
give me a scarred knight”
(I know you too have swooned over these lines if you have previously read this book, so don’t lie. You can, however, take a moment to drool over these lines before really beginning the book if you haven’t read it.)
This book contains it all – Princess. Bodyguard. Bucket list. Costa Rica. Orgasms.
A Princess in Peril & A Protector with a Past
Meet Bridget, a princess pushed into the limelight. When her brother abdicates, the weight of a crown she never desired falls on her shoulders. Her every action, including loveless political marriage, is now dictated by duty. But Bridget isn’t a typical damsel in distress. She’s powerful, wise and adamant about forging her own route as she fights for her love.
But amidst the gilded cage of royalty, Bridget finds solace in a forbidden attraction: Rhys, the stoic bodyguard tasked with her protection. Meanwhile, Rhys is everything a princess shouldn’t want. He’s enigmatic, fiercely loyal, and harbors a past shrouded in mystery. (My personal favorite parts about Rhys are the jealous moments, I will add some moments in the end for you to enjoy.)
A Slow-Burning Dance
“Twisted Games” is a SLOW-BURN romance. The stolen glances, the lingering touches, the unspoken desires and a constant awareness of the boundaries they can’t cross. (But if we’re meant to be, we will always find our way to each other.) Our princess faces the emotional turmoil as she grapples between her growing affection for Rhys and the constraints of her royal obligations.
Forbidden Love
This novel is so much more than just the forbidden love story. Bridget’s journey of self-discovery is captivating. She transforms from a carefree princess into a strong and determined leader. We witness her navigate the treacherous waters of court politics, learning to play a game she never wanted to be a part of. (Finding that Blackmailing can solve anything is also a part of this novel.)
Happily Ever After?
The tension between Bridget and Rhys is palpable, keeping you glued to the page, eager to see if their forbidden desires will consume them or if they can find a way to rewrite the rules of the game. (Got the answer, smartass? If not then read and find out)
Favorite lines from “Twisted Games”
- Men. They always ruined it by opening their mouths.
- “Remove your hands from her before I remove them for you.”
- “Go into your room and lock the door.”
- Gray storms against blue skies.
- “I know seventy-nine ways to kill a man, and I can make seventy of them look like an accident. Understand?”
Warning
You could have got the idea from introduction where I mentioned “Orgasms”, yes it contains it all so read at your own risk (risk of getting wet, duh)
Next book spoiler
You could get the hint of the next book when Ava points out that both Jules and Josh are nowhere to be seen. Well, obviously, she thought they murdered each other but we preach love, so we all have a whole different opinion. (There is also a hint about Stella with someone whose name starts with C, if you could find do tell me)

Things I would like to add
- If your first reaction after seeing a man is Holy. Hotness and your mouth go dry then he is the definitely the one (This story is the perfect example)
- And the jealousy part I promised to add above is here – Bridget and Steffan shouldn’t even be on a date right now. It was only four days after her birthday ball. Who the hell went on a date with someone they met four days ago? There should be background checks. Red tape. Twenty-four-seven surveillance to make sure Steffan wasn’t secretly a psycho killer or adulterer. Princesses shouldn’t go on a date until there was at least a year’s worth of data to comb through, in my opinion. Five years, to be on the safe side.
