King of Wrath(#1)

Here comes – “King of Wrath” by Ana Huang, the first installment of kings of sin series, a series of interconnected standalones. All the fans of Ana Huang and dark heroes gather around because we are about to dive into my favorite book by Ana Huang (yeah okay I say that about every book, it’s alright no big issues). What’s the book about? Arranged Marriage, Blackmailing, Billionaire Romance, Enemies to lovers, steamy scenes (what do you mean I’m reading porn?), etc.

Well, as a girl, it is kind of scary and insane to go home for dinner night and find out- you have a fiancé now and he is also joining the dinner. Ha! He might be just outside the door so behave! Ya! also Congo for the wedding! Totally INSANE, right? (Even though after reading this book I would be totally okay with the same scene as well, if my future husband would be Dante. I’m seriously suffering from fictophilia and the worst part is it’s not for any single one, there are so many. But let’s assume I’m loyal for Dante, I will feel good about myself then.)

Let’s talk about the characters, shall we?

Dante Russo, the arrogant and ruthless CEO of the luxury goods conglomerate The Russo Group – so obviously a billionaire as well (with a big D). His Mia cara? Vivian Lau, a jewelry heiress who is both elegant and ambitious. Being loyal to her family, Vivian finds herself in an arranged marriage with Dante Russo, the enigmatic heir who thrives on control. However, Dante is being blackmailed into the situation and only agrees to it with a plan- to find all the leverages and get rid of both Vivian and her father. But things took a turn when Dante finds himself getting attracted towards Vivian.

Dante being HIGH Standard in 8 ways straight

(Ok, this paragraph contains some spoilers. So, kindly skip this part if you don’t want any. I really tried but I couldn’t stop myself from sharing these lines and thoughts by Dante. He won my heart by all means, so he deserves a whole blog about himself only, but for now this will do.)

After reading so many books and reading this particular one, twice or maybe thrice (don’t really remember now), I have come to a conclusion that Dante is my type. MOST DEFINITELY. My favorite line?

  1. “I’m the only one who gets to see you like this.” His voice turned harsh. “You”—thrust—”are”—thrust —”my”—thrust—”wife.”

(If you don’t understand this, you are too innocent, baby, don’t read this book, it’s not for you)

  1. “You’re going to be the death of me.”

The way I’m hearing this line in all the dark morally grey hero’s books, now I crave it too. I want someone at my mercy too.

  1. “You can’t see the stars in New York,” Dante said. “So, I brought the stars to you.”

Ok best idea for a date so far. She likes stars and he bought them for her. Ways to give butterflies to a girl.

  1. “I don’t want anyone,” I said fiercely. “I want you. Your wit and intelligence, your kindness and charm. The way your eyes crinkle when you laugh and how your smile makes the world tilt just a little bit. I even want the disgusting food combinations you put together and somehow make taste good.” “But that’s the thing about you, Vivian.” My voice softened into something rawer. “You take the most ordinary or unexpected things and make them extraordinary. You see the silver lining in every situation and the good in everyone, even if they don’t deserve it. And I’m selfish enough to hope you’ll see how much I don’t just want but need you. Today, tomorrow, and all the days that come after that.”

“You and me, sweetheart. That’s the destination. And I’m willing to take as many steps as I need to get there.”

Ok Dante is TOTALY my type. (If someone wants to be my man, kindly take notes from Dante.)

  1. “Tell me what you want, Vivian. Do you want me on my knees?” Oh God. Oxygen disappeared when he slowly lowered himself to the ground, the movement both proud and subservient. His breath fanned across my skin. “Do you want this?” His fingers………

(Ha! You are not getting the steamy part here.)

  1. “Because they’re still your family, mia cara. Because if I could go back in time and stop your father from blackmailing me, I wouldn’t. Otherwise…” His voice dipped, just the tiniest fraction. “I wouldn’t have met you.”

“Per te aspetterei per sempre, amore mio.” – For you I would wait forever, my love.

Dante is THE standard, guys.

  1. “I spent thirtyseven years thinking my perfect match didn’t exist. You proved me wrong in less than one”
  2. More into Dante’s mind? – Vivian once told me about a Chinese proverb that said an invisible thread connected those destined to meet, regardless of time, place, and circumstance. I felt the phantom tug of that thread now, stretching between us and vibrating with the promise of something only fate could deliver. I used to think we wouldn’t be together if her father hadn’t forced us together. I was wrong. A part of me would always find my way to her. She was my North Star, the brightest jewel in my sky. (The best thing about Dual POV, you get the best parts.)

I can write 8 more points or maybe more than that but l know that you are cursing at me internally so let me stop here.

This man had tears in his wedding when he saw his wife obviously he is a standard. What do you mean I spoiled the book? We are here because we love HEAs and if you reading this for a review that the introduction is enough. If you are at this point in any of my blog its literally because u want to obsess over the book like I do, appreciate the characters and talk to someone who like you too love reading these books. Let’s chat in comments, should we?

More than Just a Romance

“King of Wrath” explores themes beyond love and attraction. Huang explores the complexity of family dynamics, the demands of cultural expectations, and the search for personal identity. The work also addresses the negative effects of secrets and the power of forgiveness.

He (Dante) looked invincible, but that was the thing about humans. No one was invincible. They were all vulnerable to the same hurts and insecurities as everyone else. Some people just hid it better.

(I talked about Dante too much so let’s keep everything else short, okay? Don’t tell me you are thinking I’m crazy! If being in love makes me crazy, then I’m.)

If you’re a fan of enemies-to-lovers romances with a touch of darkness, King of Wrath is a must-read. Ana Huang’s ability to create complex and compelling characters, coupled with her talent for writing sizzling chemistry, makes this book a standout in the contemporary romance genre.

If someone don’t know what Fictophilia is – it’s a condition involving an irrevocable and passionate love for a fictional character (that’s the Pinterest definition). According to google- it’s the sexual attraction towards the fictional character. Well, I couldn’t say no to that also. (*shamelessly giggling*)

Read more from Ana Huang and suffer from the same condition. Take a look at other billionaire romances.

P.S. The ring on the cover of the book is the family heirloom which Dante gave to Vivian during the last confession. That moment was so beautiful. And the fact that the cover made all scene after the confession was mind-blowing.
